She wanted to give this to her sister in memory of Murphy, I hope it brings her wonderful memories of Murphy.

This painting is of Bella a Portuguese Water Dog and was a commission for a Christmas gift. Bella's mother told me that Bella loves to go out fishing with her Dad who is a commercial fisherman. Lucky Bella gets to do what she loves the most.

This painting is a commission for a Christmas gift. May is a mix breed. May was found at a construction site, obviously abandoned. She now has a great life and is a very very sweet dog. I hope her owner enjoys the portrait as much I enjoyed painting it.

Freddie The Beagle

This is Freddie the beagle, he is the old man of the group. This is the last of three beagle paintings I did as a commission. I hope they like the paintings and I think they will look good all hung together. Freddie has that beigy, soft worn look that beagles get as they get on in years, they age much better than us humans maybe because he is not worrying about his 401k.

This is a painting of a Rhodesian Ridgeback, they are elegant, strong and intelligent dogs. They were orginally used in Southern Africa to hunt large animals. Although now most of them can be spotted lounging on the sofa watching the Animal Planet on cable.

Beautiful Rose - Portuguese Water Dog

This is a painting of my beautiful dog Rose. She was sweet and loyal but also the smartest dog I ever knew. With Rose the difference was if you threw a ball out a second story window Rose would race down the stairs and out the door while the other dogs would just bark and look down at the ball on the lawn. Actually, I had Labrador once that probably would have jumped out the window to go after the ball.
Rose's favorite thing to do was to go out in the boat at lowtide on the Westport River and play catch with her Frisbee on a sandbar.

This guy is really a white Scottish Terrier but I decided to gave him some color, artistic license and all. I also placed him outside, instead of indoors, this gives him that King of the Mountain look.
